Spike Gjerde Wins James Beard Mid-Atlantic Chef Award

Spike, Mark, AshokLinda Roth’s The Latest Dish Reports from Chicago

Spike Gjerde, chef/partner of Woodberry Kitchen and Foodservice Monthly’s 2015 Foodservice Leader of the Year, has just been named the Chef of the Year for the Mid-Atlantic at the James Beard Awards in Chicago.

The James Beard Foundation states that these chefs have set new or consistent standards of excellence in their respective regions. Each candidate may be employed by any kind of dining establishment and must have been a working chef for at least the past five years. The three most recent years must have been spent in the region where the chef is presently working.
