Peter Smith Makes Bold PS 7’s Staff Additions for 2009

Chefandlobstere
Peter Smith
is more than lobster mushrooms these days … making bold New York Yankee-like personnel moves in the DC hospitality market. With the announcement this morning that Smith's PS 7's is bringing onto its staff mixologist Gina Chersevani, pastry chef Leon Baker and general manager Robert Hall (first announced 12/23), the restaurant has moved boldly to position itself as a major culinary player in 2009.

Mixologist Gina Chersevani brings her cocktail expertise beginning today to the bar at PS 7’s. Regarded as one of the leading mixologists in the country, her philosophy is centered on a theme of culinary creativity, care, and craftsmanship. Chersevani earned a degree from the University of Maryland in Art and Psychology before mixology and has developed her talent most recently at Rasika, Poste and EatBar.

Pastry chef Leon Baker first
collaborated with Smith at Vidalia Restaurant and has built a reputation for brilliant and innovative desserts. Baker built his reputation for desserts at Vidalia, Kinkead’s, Red Sage, Signatures, and
Farrah Olivia. Baker says chocolate, fruits, and savory spices are his favorite ingredients.

Robert Hall has taken over day-to-day operations as general manager of
the restaurant. Bringing with him over twenty-five years
of experience in restaurant and event management, Hall was most recently general manager at Jaleo Crystal
City. Prior to his tenure at Jaleo, he worked at Olives
Restaurant, where he coordinated event programs nationally, and
McCormick & Schmick’s.

PS 7’s is between 7th and 9th Streets, NW at 777 I (Eye) Street, NW, Washington, DC.
