2014 OCHMRA Spring Trade Expo Celebrates 40th Anniversary March 9-10

OC EXPO 13 2013The highlight of the winter is just around the corner as the Ocean City Hotel-Motel-Restaurant Association is actively preparing for the 40th Anniversary Spring Trade Expo. Coined “coming out of winter hibernation” by one long-time exhibitor, this Expo is a long standing Eastern Shore hospitality tradition. As the producer of the largest Mid-Atlantic trade Expo, the OCHMRA’s goal is to connect hospitality industry buyers and sellers. With the industry being time-starved, Expo provides the perfect opportunity to do one-stop shopping at nearly 400 exhibits.

Exhibitors are eager to showcase new and innovative products and provide samples of their latest product line. Many exhibitors feature show specials which offer steep discounts.

To celebrate their 40th Anniversary, the OCHMRA has commissioned Executive Chef Steve Weiss for anniversary themed sugar sculptures. Having appeared on Food Networks “Flying Sugar” and “Sugar Impossible” episodes, chef Weiss has shown amazing decorative skills and talent. You can watch him as he creates from the delicate world of sugar during the Expo.

Expo features three exhibit halls and there is still time to purchase an exhibit booth. Attendees come from as far north as Wilmington, across the Bay Bridge and south to the Eastern Shore of VA. The Expo is only open to hospitality professionals, therefore to attend; guests must be in the lodging or dining business, a liquor store, convenience store, cafeteria, nursing home, hospital or school, etc. Exhibit booths are $615 for a 10 x 10 and are the most affordable in the industry, as the goal isn’t to make huge profits, but rather to bring together the industry.
